Coaches

Suzanne Miller (nee Rayappan) Head Coach

England international squad member 2003-2009.  She achieved a highest world ranking of 11 in mixed doubles and 13 in ladies doubles and number 1 in English national rankings in ladies doubles and mixed doubles.  She is a European Bronze junior medallist, US Open finalist and won many international titles including Czech Open 2001, Irish Open 2004, Canadian Open 2004 and Slovakian Open 2007 and the ladies doubles national title in 2009.  In 2013 she was honoured in the Stevenage Sports Hall of Fame alongside Lewis Hamilton, Ashley Young and Ian Poulter to recognise their achievements within sport.  She has over 15 years coaching experience including England juniors and the GB Deaf squad.  Suzanne is also an athlete mentor for the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. She is a qualified Personal Trainer, Level 2 Badminton Coach, DBS checked and safeguarding certified.

Jason Collatin – Assistant Coach

Rayappan Badminton Academy Safeguarding officer, county junior and passionate about developing other players at every level.  Jason still trains for self improvement and to better understand the needs of the players at the Academy.  He is Level 2 Badminton Coaching qualified, DBS checked and safeguarding certified.

James Gordon – Assistant Coach

Herts County U11 coach, Baldock junior coach and present Stevenage League competitor.  James is a passionate educator given that he is also a senior school Geography teacher in Luton.  He is Level 2 qualified, DBS checked and safeguarding certified.

Daniel Davey – Assistant Coach

England Top 20 singles player and Herts senior county regular.  Daniel has been coached by Suzanne from a young age as well as having plenty of experience training and competing in Denmark.  Daniel is also a qualified ambulance technician working towards his paramedic qualification.  He is Level 1 qualified, DBS checked and safeguarding certified.
